Best sunny lunch spots in Courchevel

Courchevel has a well earned reputation as a gastronomic destination, with great dining options for all tastes and budgets. And whether you’re visiting over the winter, or the summer, no visit to this iconic resort would be complete without a long leisurely lunch, sipping rosé in the sun, with a stunning mountain backdrop. Fortunately, when it comes to lunchtime, there are plenty of great options for sunny spots to relax and refuel. So, in our latest blog, we share some of the best sunny lunch spots in Courchevel.

Caves des Creux, on the piste, above Courchevel (1850)

Situated at just over 2000m, and next to the piste of the same name, Caves des Creux is a popular skiers lunch spot, with a bustling sun terrace. Their food is excellent, although a little pricier than several of the other options featured below. They serve an eclectic mix of Savoyard specialities and Asian inspired-dishes, with some changing regular specials on set days of the week including slow-cooked lamb leg and cote de boeuf. Make sure you save room for dessert - their dessert trolley is something to write home about. We’d highly recommend booking ahead as this place gets busy - especially on bluebird days.

Le Bouc Blanc, at the top of the La Tania bubble

The Bouc Blanc is a favourite among locals and holidaymakers alike, serving good food, in plentiful portions, quickly and efficiently. The service is fast and relaxed and while their affordable dishes could not be described as high-end dining, it’s always tasty and hits the spot after a day on the slopes. Situated atop a plateau, with a large sun terrace and 360 degree mountain view, the setting is hard to beat - making it the perfect place for a long rosé filled lunch. They also serve one of our favourite café gourmands for dessert. Another great thing about the Bouc Blanc is that they’re open both summer and winter, making it a fantastic sunny lunch option whichever season you visit.

Le Bel Air, at the top of the Ariondaz bubble, Courchevel Moriond

The Bel Air is arguably a Courchevel institution, serving simple Savoyard dishes done well, including a super simple but ever-popular Bel Air salad, available on its own, or accompanying most main dishes. What makes this place really shine though is its south-facing tiered sun terrace, offering incredible views across Courchevel. Reachable on skis (or on foot during the summer) or via the Ariondaz bubble it’s the perfect option for your whole party. And, as well as being a great lunch spot, it’s always a stunning setting for an apero drink at the end of the day.

Le Tremplin, foot of the piste, Courchevel (1850)

Le Tremplin is a high-end lunch spot located at the base of the slopes in the heart of Courchevel. It has a large outdoor terrace that gets plenty of sun, and is perfect for watching skiers and snowboarders as they come down the mountain. The menu features hearty mountain fare, such as tartiflette and raclette, as well as burgers (including a very lavish wagyu beef burger), salads, sushi and a wide array of seafood.
