Courchevel Le PRaz
Courchevel Le Praz is a quaint mountain village, one of several within the popular ski resort of Courchevel, and part of the expansive Three Valleys ski area. Of the five villages which make up the resort, Courchevel Le Praz is arguably the prettiest, with narrow, winding cobbled streets, a beautiful lake and stunning mountain views from every angle.
Courchevel Le Praz sits at 1,300m, and with a bubble that takes you up to Courchevel 1850 in 6 minutes, and a high speed 6-person chair which whisks you up towards La Tania and Méribel, it’s a great base from which to explore Courchevel and the wider Three Valleys.
Although a popular destination for skiers, Courchevel Le Praz offers plenty of activities for skiers and non-skiers alike. There are a myriad of walking paths from which you can explore the nearby villages and enjoy the stunning views, with or without snowshoes. As well as several cross-country trails, suitable for people of all levels.
Things to do in Courchevel Le Praz
You can reach Courchevel by car, by plane or even by train. If you’re arriving by plane, the closest public airports are Chambery, Lyon, Geneva or Grenoble. From there, the most convenient way to get to Courchevel Le Praz is by private transfer. Unless of course, you’re coming by private jet - in which case you can land directly into Courchevel’s very own altiport. And if you’d like to arrive by train, the nearest train station is in Moutiers, a short 20 min drive away from Courchevel Le Praz.
Courchevel consists of five main villages: Courchevel (formerly known as Courchevel 1850), Courchevel Moriond (formerly Courchevel 1650), Courchevel Village (formerly Courchevel 1550), Courchevel Le Praz and La Tania. Each of the villages are interconnected by a regular bus service and by ski lifts, some of which run into the evening to provide easy access between the villages.
If you’re staying in Courchevel Le Praz, there is a bus up to Courchevel, Courchevel Moriond and Courchevel Village every 30 minutes during the day, and one that runs to La Tania every hour. These buses continue until past midnight should you wish to venture out for the evening. The Praz bubble also runs in the evening until 11.30pm allowing you easy access to the bars and restaurants higher up.
